"It’s a big red flag when someone claims to see only demons and entities in others, but not in themselves." Yep, that pretty much nails it. And it's applicable not just in explicitly religious contexts. Covid saw it happen on scale, and in both directions of the argument. As a Covid dissident I was shocked at the hostility shown by the compliant mainstream towards us, but even more shocked by my own hostility towards them. I'd no idea I could be so hateful and vengeful. Still working through that one... Anyway, great article Bernhard, thank you!

This was brilliant, and I cannot wait to take a deeper dive into the rest of your articles. I haven’t done any plant medicine but did have a spontaneous experience of our oneness that felt euphoric. This led me down a spiritual path where I felt as though I had an awakening. However, I was learning faster than I could integrate and I had to pump the breaks. I’ve gone back to my Christian roots, without all of the dogma. Just simply following the teachings of Christ—to love thy neighbor, to forgive etc., paired with meditation, prayer, therapy, and time in nature has grounded me more than any organized religion or new age spirituality modalities could. There may come a time when I am compelled to take my spirituality further, but for now I’m working on integrating my shadow and striving to be more loving and heart-centered in my day-to-day earthly experiences, and for where I’m at right now, that feels the most holy.

Thank you for sharing these powerful insights!
